Stein Hoisting Competition (Rochester Rd)
Calling all craft beer fans! Dust off your lederhosen and dirndls because Samuel Adams OctoberFest is back, and Hamlin Pub is holding a stein hoisting competition to celebrate on Wednesday, October 19th at 7pm.
For over 200 years, the German tradition of Oktoberfest has included this time-honored test of strength. The competition is exactly what it sounds like: participants must hold a one-liter stein of OctoberFest straight out in front of themselves without bending their elbow or spilling any of the beer. All participants will receive a prize and the final contestant standing will take home a special stein in addition to a grand prize. Whether you’re hoisting, cheering on your friends while they hoist, or just getting a taste of this seasonal brew, nothing says fall quite like Oktoberfest or a good old fashioned beer stein hoisting.
